EPL Chelsea's Palmer warns against penalty-taking style

Former Manchester United striker Garth Crooks has given Chelsea player Cole Palmer advice on his shooting style.

Speaking to the BBC, Crooks warned Palmer that he could get into trouble if he disrespected his opponents with his punishing Panenka style.

He added that players know how to handle such daring endings.

“The way Palmer took the penalty showed he has great confidence in his abilities,” Crooks said.

“But his perfect finish almost ‘caught Michael’ and players have a way of dealing with that. If he’s not careful, they could clip his wings.”

Palmer scored a goal, including a cheeky Panenka, against Burnley in the final Premier League match of the weekend.

However, Chelsea drew 2-2 with the Clarets, despite Palmer’s good performance, having twice eliminated a 10-man team.
