6 Facts Why Travel Insurance Is Needed

1. Loss of baggage receipt

You may think this can’t happen to you, but believe it or not, losing your checked luggage is common. And if it doesn’t happen to you, that’s great news, but what if it happens to you? What happens if you are unlucky?

Whether you lose valuables or clothes while travelling, losing anything, including your luggage, is a big loss! That is why it is better to play it safe and take out luggage insurance.

I thought something like this would never happen to me and it’s weird, but I almost lost my luggage twice and honestly, it bothers me a lot!

3. Flight delay or cancellation

Another common thing in the travel world and I bet one of you (if not both) has experienced this, is a delayed or cancelled flight. And if it’s a connecting flight, you not only lose precious time, but you also risk losing another one.

This happened to me once when I was returning to Cairo from Bali. I had two breaks: one in Jakarta and one in Abu Dhabi, and the first one was postponed twice.

I sat on the earlier flight so as not to miss the other two, but only because I was well prepared and arrived at the airport early. What happens if I’m unlucky? But my travel insurance saves the day. So my advice: don’t joke.

4. Illness abroad

If you get sick at home, you can also get sick while travelling. A change in climate and a new cuisine that is very strange to the stomach increases the probability of suffering from dizziness.

Your trip can be ruined if you are in bed. Why worry about additional costs when you can protect your back with travel insurance?

Medical and health services may be more expensive in other countries. Additionally, the severity of the illness varies greatly: it can be minimal, like the flu, or a little more serious, like a positive COVID-19 test and quarantine abroad. Not to mention you might end up in the hospital otherwise, God forbid.
